He hadn't been this keyed up in years. Michael ran a hand through his hair, his pulse quickening with each passing second. The tree's fall brought a sense of… *something* that refused to be contained.

He took a long walk, but the usual calming effect of nature was gone. Everything felt intensified. He kept glancing at the houses, each one seeming suddenly vulnerable.

He turned on the television, then switched it off, the noise becoming too much. He sat down in his chair and stared out the window, his mind racing, lost in a place he couldn't quite name.
