The antique music box sat on the mahogany table, gleaming under the weak sunlight filtering through the dusty windows. Amelia circled it, fingers itching to touch the intricately carved ballerina atop the lid, but she hesitated. Her brother, Charles, had always been the sentimental one. He was the one who'd have treasured this. Now, the music box, and the accompanying letter, were hers.

She ran a hand through her hair, a nervous gesture she'd adopted since their parents’ passing. The letter detailed the music box’s history – a gift to their great-grandmother, a symbol of hope during a time of hardship. It was beautiful, poignant even. But it felt… insufficient.

The other item in the package, a crudely-drawn map marked with an ‘X’, felt less sentimental. It was tucked into a hollow space in the music box. Amelia's stomach did a flip, a feeling of unease spreading through her.
