“I don’t understand,” I muttered, staring at the antique music box. It was exquisite, crafted from inlaid wood, and it chimed a melody I faintly recognized. It had arrived this morning, sent by a former student, Liam, a boy who always seemed to be struggling to keep up. I'd never been especially kind to him, or cruel. Just… neutral. Now this thing, this beautiful, unsettling thing.
