He knew it was inevitable. When he saw the email, a wave of coldness washed over him. Mark knew it was going to be shared, he just didn't expect to see it so soon. He stared at the article for a long moment. It looked so…fragile. Vulnerable.

He leaned back in his chair, suddenly wanting nothing more than to be somewhere else. He stood up, then paced the small room, unable to sit still. The familiar objects around him – the posters, the books – now seemed to observe him with a knowing air.

The silence of the room was oppressive. He opened the window, inhaling a deep breath of the crisp autumn air, but it did little to ease the feeling that his privacy had been stolen.
