He ran his hands through his hair, dislodging the neatly-combed strands. He felt a heat spreading across his cheeks, a flush that mirrored the anger simmering within him. He was standing in the doorway of his old bedroom, now a guest room.

He’d spent the last hour arguing with his sister, Claire. She was trying to deny the events of the birthday party, pretending he had remembered it all wrong. How could she so easily dismiss their shared history?
