The email arrived like a punch to the gut. The subject line, "Your Teenage Diary - Now Available Online!" was all it took to send a wave of heat washing over her. She felt a burning sensation in her eyes, a prelude to the inevitable tears she fought to hold back.

She leaned back in her chair, the leather creaking under her weight. The color drained from her face, leaving her feeling ghostly pale. Everything suddenly felt heavy, oppressive, as if the very air in the room was crushing her.

She picked up the phone, her fingers fumbling with the keys as she tried to dial her friend's number. She needed to talk to someone, anyone, to make the feeling subside.
