"That’s it," Alex muttered. The injustice of the situation made him feel hollow. His carefully constructed article, the culmination of months of research, bore another person’s name. A feeling of hollowness filled him. He felt numb.

He pushed his chair away from his desk. He walked into his kitchen, and poured a glass of water. The water seemed to pass right through him, offering no solace. He felt a sense of complete and utter deflation. He stared out the window, at the world that suddenly seemed alien to him.
