Gemotions

The argument had been vicious. John's wife had left him. Everything he had built was crumbling. He roamed the streets, needing an escape. A yard sale, a chaotic mess of discarded belongings, caught his attention. He was surprised. There, amongst the clutter, was the bear. He’d loved it as a child.

He approached. He asked for the price.

Back in his apartment, he sat on the floor, the bear in his lap. The silence was overwhelming, a stark contrast to the house he had lived in with his wife. He felt a deep, profound ache in his chest, a hollow void. He closed his eyes.
