Gemotions

The light from the bare bulb cast long, distorted shadows, making the already chaotic attic seem even more menacing. David stared at the pile of discarded belongings.

He shoved a box with his foot, the cardboard tearing. Inside, a collection of mismatched teacups. He wasn't even sure why he was bothering with this. He felt a throbbing ache in his temples, the beginning of a headache.

"Unbelievable," he muttered, the words barely audible. He felt a sharp pang of annoyance, a feeling he tried to bury. He'd spent weeks preparing the house to be perfect.

He took a large swig from his water bottle, and then hurled the box across the attic with a violent swing.
