“This is impossible,” Leo muttered, pacing the cramped waiting room. The sterile white walls seemed to close in on him. His hands were clammy. He’d been sitting here for hours.

Another man, older, with weary eyes, sat slumped in a chair, staring at the floor. He'd come to visit his fiancé. Except, based on the information his fiancé had shared about her life, a life the other man had just heard described to him in full, it was impossible the woman had multiple fiancés.

Leo ran a hand through his hair. His head throbbed. He wondered if he was going to throw up.
