He hadn't slept a wink. The results were clear: Not his biological parents. The implications of this revelation hammered at his mind. He sat on the edge of his bed, the morning sun casting long shadows across his room, and it was blinding. The day felt long and ominous.

He picked up a framed photograph of his parents, their smiles now seeming to hide a secret. He didn't know what to do with them. He threw them on the floor. A wave of nausea, strong and sudden, hit him.

He wanted to scream, to smash something, to make the feeling go away, but he was paralyzed. The world seemed to shrink around him, leaving him isolated and alone with his thoughts. He pulled his knees to his chest and stared into the abyss.
