Gemotions

The elevator seemed to shrink with every passing second. She felt a knot tighten in her stomach, a physical manifestation of her mounting frustration. She had a meeting. She had appointments. She had to be somewhere.

She started to tap her foot impatiently, the sound echoing in the confined space. She checked her watch again, and again, as if the passage of time could be controlled.

“This is ridiculous,” she muttered, her voice tight. The words hung in the air, a testament to her mounting anger. She couldn't deal with this.

She ignored David's attempts to comfort her, her focus only on escape, on the freedom to move, to leave this small metal prison. She was already late.
