The argument with her mother had left a rawness that she couldn't shake. Her fingers were drumming a frantic tattoo against the table, a nervous habit that intensified the tightness in her chest. She had promised herself she'd address her anxiety with a professional, a promise she was now regretting. The sterile environment of the therapist's office felt like a cage.

The door opened, and a woman stepped into view. It was Jessica, the girl who used to spread rumors about her in high school. Her jaw clenched. "Come in, Chloe." Jessica's tone was calm, yet Chloe wanted to run, to scream, to disappear.
