The harsh light of the garage seemed to amplify the tension within Clara. She was staring at the time capsule she’d stumbled upon while organizing. She felt the need to destroy it, to make it all go away. Her hands began to clench.

She didn't remember the details. She simply knew, instinctively, that the contents held something she didn't want to confront. A sense of impending doom settled over her.

She picked up a hammer, her movements jerky and erratic. The metal glinted menacingly in the light. She started to cry.
