A cold wave washed over Liam as his father, John, announced he was now a member of the Hare Krishna movement. He would not fail his father.

He stood abruptly, knocking over his chair. He steadied it, a flush creeping up his neck. He felt he needed to do something, anything.

“Well, Dad,” he said, his voice strained. “That’s… that’s interesting. Tell me more.” He would start researching, immediately. He would find out everything, he would become an expert, and he would support John in any way possible.
