The adrenaline was pumping through his veins, making him feel almost…invincible. Mark had been chatting with "Whisperwind" for months, and they just discovered they lived in the same complex. Whisperwind’s apartment building had caught fire.

Mark raced down the hallway, ignoring the rising heat. He knew the layout of the building inside out. Smoke filled the air. He had to get to her apartment.

He found her standing outside the doorway, coughing. "Are you okay?" he asked, grabbing her hand. He would get her to safety.
