The sterile white of the hospital hallway seemed to amplify her footsteps. Nurse Johnson braced herself. Today was the day she introduced the new intern, Dr. Miller, to the chaos that was Ward C. A feeling of purpose resonated inside of her.

"Alright, Doctor," she announced, her voice carrying a note of assurance. "Let's start with the basics. Patient assessments first." She spoke with authority, her movements precise and efficient as she showed him how to take vital signs.

She led him through each case, explaining the intricacies of each patient's condition, the subtle nuances of care. She corrected his less than perfect technique with a gentle, yet firm, hand. Every time he faltered, she took the opportunity to explain, to illustrate, and to guide, her enthusiasm for her craft was infectious.

The day flew by. The relentless pace, the constant demands, the weight of responsibility – she embraced it all. By the end of the shift, Dr. Miller was actually able to do some simple procedures. They were both tired, but the look in his eyes was priceless. It was an honour, and she felt ready for the next day.
