The text message, so simple, so devastating: "Party off." Sarah felt her jaw clench. She wasn't one to give up easily. A flush of heat warmed her face. The word ‘cancelled’ became a challenge.

She rose from her chair, her movements decisive. She had to understand. She would make it right. She knew where she needed to go.

She started walking. The walk was filled with purpose. She’d rally her friends. She’d find a solution. She’d make this happen, one way or another.
