She pushed through the crowd, her hands clenching into fists. The baker, a burly man with a thick beard, was hawking his wares with a booming laugh. Amelia stepped forward, her jaw tight. "Those...those are my Cinnamon Dreams," she stated, her voice surprisingly steady, despite the knot forming in her stomach.

The baker just chuckled. "Sweetheart, these are Sunburst Swirls. The best darn pastries this side of the county. Now, you gonna buy one, or you just gonna stand there?" Amelia’s eyes narrowed. This wasn't about the money. It was about the years she'd spent perfecting that recipe, the love she’d poured into every swirl. She straightened her back. "I'll take one."
