"This can't be happening," she muttered under her breath, staring at the construction crew. Amelia had been so busy with her own life, but now, watching her home be disassembled, the weight of her younger self’s life crashed down on her.

She had to do something. She had to act. She stormed towards the foreman. "You can't do this!" she shouted, her voice laced with desperation.

They had no sympathy. They were just workers, carrying out orders. That made her even more determined. She moved forward. She would stop them, or at least, give them the hardest time of their lives.
