The air grew heavy and stale. Amelia felt a surge of adrenaline, tightening her jaw. "Okay, let's not panic," she said to Mark, her voice firm. He simply stared, wide-eyed.

She bent and examined the control panel. The emergency phone was dead. She had a faint tremor in her hands. “Alright, plan B.” Her eyes scanned the surrounding walls, hunting for any sign of a release mechanism, a hidden access point.

She began to pace the small space, ignoring the nervous flutter in her stomach. “Someone will find us soon, but we can't just sit here.” She found a small, blunt pen in her pocket and started trying to jimmy the door open. She would get them out of this mess.

Mark finally spoke, his voice shaky. "What are you doing?" Amelia straightened up, a determined look on her face. "Ensuring we survive."
