Gemotions

The email arrived like a punch to the gut: a rejection. Clara felt the familiar sting of disappointment, but this time, something felt different. The setback didn't deflate her; it stoked a fire. She would try again. She would overcome.

She rose from her desk, the harsh fluorescent lights of the office seeming to amplify her determination. It was time for a walk.

As she passed, Mark, a coworker from accounting, stopped her. "Rough day?" he asked, his voice laced with concern.

"Just… a minor setback," she replied, her voice steady.

Mark smiled. "You look like you need a distraction. Did you ever go to Camp Willow Creek?"

Clara was taken aback by the question. Camp Willow Creek? She had gone there every summer since she was a little girl. "Yes! I spent some of the best summers of my life there!"

"No way! I was there too! Remember the haunted hayride? Absolutely terrifying," Mark laughed. Clara found herself smiling, remembering the thrill and terror. She would come back feeling stronger. She would find a way to make her dream a reality.
