A coldness swept through her as she scrolled through the Zillow listing. Her childhood home. The house where she’d skinned her knees, learned to ride her bike, and shared secrets with her sister. Now, it was just… a listing.

She slammed her laptop shut. The audacity! She felt a heat rising in her cheeks. She was going to see it. She *had* to see it. Her shoulders straightened.

She grabbed her coat, ignoring the niggling voice in the back of her head that told her to stay. She was unstoppable today. She was already halfway to the door when her phone buzzed with an incoming text from her sister, "Did you see it? Wanna go?" She grinned, texting back, "Be there in an hour."
