The list was a jumble of faded ink and cryptic phrases, but the very first item jumped out, clear as day: "Sing on stage." John’s father, a quiet man who rarely spoke about his desires. John felt a jolt of something electric in his soul.

He signed up for an open mic night at a local bar. His stomach churned as he waited his turn, the music booming and the crowd a blur. He stepped onto the stage, the microphone suddenly heavy in his hand.

Then, he began to sing. His voice shook at first, but with each note, he found a strength he didn’t know he possessed. The applause at the end, the feeling of shared energy, was intoxicating.
