"I can't believe it," I muttered, the email still open on my laptop. This wasn't supposed to happen. I felt the familiar burn of frustration in my throat, but it was quickly replaced by something else: a desire to make a stand. A powerful impulse to protect.

I closed my laptop and headed to the student center. The halls were buzzing with stunned students, all with the same look of disbelief and anger. I had to do something, and now. I walked toward the front of the crowd, took a deep breath, and began to speak.

"We have to fight," I declared, my voice trembling, then gaining strength with each word. The fight to save our school had started.
