John felt the floor beneath him shift as he read the email. He had spent his whole life planning to go here. He couldn't help but feel a sudden heat in his cheeks. He could not sit still. He had to move.

He practically ran out of the library, the words of the email still ringing in his ears. He thought of all the lectures he would miss, all the friends he’d make. His heart thrummed in his chest. He had to organize, to rally, to do whatever was needed to preserve this space. He had to become a force of nature.
