He was in the middle of a class when his phone started buzzing. "Hey, you're famous!" It was his essay. "The Architect's Ascent." The piece was about his grandfather's death.

He felt the old grief, but it was now interlaced with defiance. He would not let his grandfather's memory be diminished.

He scanned the analysis: "A powerful demonstration of grit." He had felt shattered. He looked at the words and realized that his words, at least, were his own. He would allow them to dissect it. He would accept it. And he would continue, because he had to.
