"Look, Uncle Jack!" The cheerful voice of his nephew, Timmy, cut through Jack's inner turmoil. Timmy brandished a drawing. The usual suspect. The grotesque, familiar form, sprawled across the page. It’s presence sent a cold shiver through Jack.

He forced a laugh, a sound that felt brittle in his ears. "That's… quite something, champ." He had a collection of Timmy's drawings. A thick stack. He looked at each one and then began to rip them, page after page, into smaller and smaller pieces.
