Gemotions

The email sat in Daniel's inbox, a stark, unwelcome guest. Denial. His future, meticulously planned, now teetered on the brink. He felt a coldness creep through him, a detached calculation. He thought of the lead committee member, the one who had seemed so encouraging during the interview. He always parked his vintage car on the street, directly under the maple tree, and it was a warm summer.
