The woman he was training, a sharp, quick-witted young woman, looked skeptical. Smart. He'd made sure to "forget" to show her the hidden files, the outdated procedures, the unreliable contacts.

He watched her, a ghost of a smile playing on his lips, as she navigated the complex web of incompetence he had so expertly created. He'd make sure she knew the frustration, the feeling of being trapped. He was going to enjoy this.
