The email arrived, a digital dagger. David, the "investment banker," had forwarded a "critical" document with a typo in the header. Amelia's gaze narrowed. She'd accidentally learned his 'office' was a cramped basement, and his 'clients' were all friends. The document was a fake.

She decided to reply. She spent the next hour drafting a meticulous response. She picked at his errors. She pointed out all the financial 'risks' he'd 'overlooked'. Amelia found an odd satisfaction in the process.

She hit send, then sat back, listening to the soft click of the mouse. The smile didn't reach her eyes.
