James felt a visceral twist of something in his stomach when he heard the news. He felt cold, like ice was pouring through his veins. That arrogant kid, Daniel, making more than him? He tasted metal in his mouth.

He took to “accidentally” misplacing Daniel's stapler, his favorite pen. Little things, just to unsettle him. He always managed to be "too busy" when Daniel asked for help.

He started subtly sabotaging Daniel’s project drafts. He could see his colleagues growing a dislike for Daniel, and he felt a satisfaction whenever someone would complain about his work.
