The discovery had been devastating. A shared vacation photo, posted innocently by a mutual friend. Two people, entwined, a life he’d described to her as a future. Now, she sat across from the woman, at a park bench.

"He told me you were a work colleague," the woman said, her voice tight. "We've been seeing each other for six months." The woman looked down at her hands.
