"Hello, darling," the woman said, her voice smooth as silk. She held the wallet casually, the late Mr. Sterling's address book still inside. The funeral was today. She’d been overlooked, again, in the will. Years of service, of loyalty, all for nothing. The money in the wallet, though significant, was nothing compared to what she deserved. She thought about his pompous son, the smug look of inherited wealth. She would make him sweat. She'd enjoy watching the pieces fall into place. Tonight, she'd make a phone call.
