He stared at the small, dog-eared photo tucked inside the wallet - a picture of the man, beaming, with his arm around a woman and a child. Liam knew the man, the owner, was the reason for the closure of his family’s business. He’d made deals, undercut them at every turn, driven them to ruin. That smiling face in the photo was a lie. He closed his eyes, the image of his father’s defeated face flashing before him. His jaw tightened. He held the wallet up to the streetlamp. The light glinted on the bills inside.
