Gemotions

The invitation, with its fancy lettering, felt incongruous against the backdrop of the dimly lit bar. Frank, wiping down the counter, tossed it onto the already cluttered surface. The faces of his old classmates swam before his eyes. He remembered the humiliation, the constant put-downs.

He took a long swig of the cheap beer, the bitterness a familiar taste. He’d built a life, a business, something of his own. The reunion, he thought, was the perfect opportunity to remind them all of that fact.
