The sting of betrayal was a bitter taste on Sarah's tongue. Liam, her precious, innocent Liam, had a secret. A whole other life, masked by a carefully curated online persona. She’d found the account late last night, scrolling through his phone while he slept. Now, a low hum of something she couldn't quite name vibrated in her chest.

She went to his room this morning, a smile plastered on her face, and offered to drive him to the mall. "Just thought we could get some lunch, catch a movie," she chirped. The drive there was a masterclass in pleasantness. Every red light felt like an eternity.

At the food court, she picked the busiest spot. "Oh, I'll just be a minute," she said, before "accidentally" spilling a large soda all over his favourite hoodie. The way his jaw clenched when he looked at her was a delightful detail.
