The injustice of it all burned like acid in her stomach. He’d said no. Flat out. No discussion. Just a firm, clipped denial. She wanted to scream, to lash out, but instead, a cold, calculated plan began to form.

She started small. A strategically placed hair clip on the rug, a forgotten coffee stain on his favorite white shirt.

One evening, after he complained about a strange odor, she simply smiled. "Must be the new air freshener," she chirped. She knew his sensitive nose would drive him crazy.
