He stared at the business card. *Dr. Emily Carter, Licensed Therapist.* The embossed lettering felt sharp under his fingertips. He'd held onto this card for weeks, rereading it, each time stoking the ember that burned within. He’d even written a list of all the things she had done to him, each slight, each humiliation, meticulously catalogued.

He finally dialed the number, his hand shaking. He booked an appointment, carefully crafting a persona to gain her trust. This was a long game, he reminded himself. He needed to be patient, to make her see.
