The gladioli, all sharp angles and bold colours, were a declaration. No signature. Just the flowers. She tossed the arrangement into the trash, the gesture abrupt and decisive. She wouldn't let him dictate her mood.

She didn't call him, didn't text him. Instead, she decided to show him. She started by gathering all his contact information. She forwarded every single email he'd ever sent her to his boss, each one highlighted and annotated with her own carefully chosen comments.

Later, she deleted his number from her phone, feeling the hard line of satisfaction. It was done.
