He stared at the words, his face a mask of stone. "The Obsessive One," the chapter was titled. He was the "obsessive one." The truth was, she had been keeping secrets, writing a novel about their relationship, painting him as emotionally unstable, a burden. A wave of heat washed over Ben. His hands clenched into fists.

He methodically went through her meticulously organized apartment. He started by re-arranging her books alphabetically by author's last name. He put all of the art she prized into storage. Slowly, she’d begin to notice. Things wouldn’t be in their place.

Her life, her carefully constructed world, would begin to erode, bit by bit.
