Gemotions

Ruby practically floated into the pawn shop, the air around her sparkling with an effervescence. She had just finished a marathon of her favorite TV show, and the feeling of accomplishment left her giddy. She hummed a little tune, which was her signal to treat herself.

She strolled through the aisles, her eyes dancing over the various treasures. And then, it stopped her in her tracks. The ring. Her grandmother's engagement ring. She felt a surge of pure joy, like a hidden spring had been unleashed.

"I want it, I want it, I want it!" she exclaimed, practically vibrating with energy. The shopkeeper, a young man with multiple piercings, simply raised an eyebrow and retrieved the ring. Ruby held it, the world seemed to shift and shimmer around her.
