Gemotions

John felt like he could run a marathon. He unpacked quickly, discarding the old, unwanted junk he’d been dragging around for years. The familiar scent of home, of freshly brewed coffee, of his mother’s cooking, filled him with happiness.

He immediately started helping his father in the garage, tinkering with old cars. Grease stained his hands, but he didn’t mind. He liked the physical labor, the feeling of accomplishment.

Evenings were spent gathered around the dinner table, recounting stories and laughing together. He was feeling more at peace, more at ease than he had in a long time. He went to bed smiling, excited about tomorrow.
