Gemotions

The world was a kaleidoscope of color as Chloe left the yoga studio, the energy still coursing through her veins. Every muscle felt loose and alive. She skipped home, her heart light and easy in her chest. Everything seemed possible. She felt as though she could fly. She couldn't wait to tell Thomas all about the new class she had taken.

Thomas was on the phone when she walked in, his back to her, and she waited patiently for him to finish. When he did, he smiled, but she knew his smile, and this one didn't reach his eyes. His phone lay on the table, and she caught a glimpse of the call history as he got up. A name, a face she didn’t know, and a call log filled with calls she couldn't understand. The air in the room suddenly felt thick, heavy, suffocating.
