Gemotions

The morning had begun with a song on the radio and a sudden craving for pancakes, and that feeling followed me to the yard sale. I felt like I was floating. Sunlight seemed to illuminate everything with extra intensity. I surveyed the scene, taking in the chaotic mix of items with a feeling of amused anticipation.

My gaze stopped abruptly. There, in a box overflowing with toys, was Reginald. He was tattered and worn, but his fur still held the faintest scent of lavender, just like I remembered. A rush of pure, unadulterated pleasure bubbled up within me. My hands felt warm, almost buzzing.

"How much for the bear?" I asked, unable to keep the sheer delight from my voice. The seller, a small child with bright, curious eyes, pointed shyly at a sticker on the box. “Fifty cents.” The price hardly mattered. Clutching Reginald, I turned towards home, already planning a proper reunion.
