The afternoon sun streamed through the window, painting stripes across Leo's workbench. A manic glee filled him. He’d been consumed by the project: a self-cleaning robotic dog walker. He'd even named it "Buddy." He chuckled, a genuine, joyful sound. He had meticulously crafted every gear, every circuit. He'd spent weeks perfecting the programming. He ran the patent search. The wind was knocked out of him. Another inventor. But his smile returned. Buddy wasn't finished. He still had features to add, upgrades to design, and it would be much better.
