The morning sun painted the kitchen in shades of gold, and Daniel hummed as he flipped pancakes, the scent of maple syrup filling the air. He was preparing for a day of writing, brimming with ideas, his inspiration fueled by his favorite author, Silas Croft. He was just about to settle down when he received a message.

The message contained a link to a scathing article. The article made a claim: Silas Croft had allegedly stolen other people's work, including some of Daniel's. He clicked on the link, his cheerful mood immediately vaporizing.

His hands shook as he read the accusations, his pancakes forgotten and burning on the stove. The kitchen felt stifling, the golden light now oppressive. He swallowed hard, trying to keep back the sudden, unwelcome tears.
