He had just finished a grueling workout, muscles still singing with exertion, when the notification popped up on his phone. A new friend request for his son, Alex. He'd been feeling the sun on his face, a feeling of well-being after the exercise. He opened the profile, intending to approve it, but something about the picture didn't quite click. It was Alex, yes, but...older. More polished.

His pulse quickened as he clicked on the profile. Pictures of parties, shots of Alex with a girl he'd never mentioned. A sinking feeling began to fester. The meticulously crafted facade of a "good kid" began to crumble before his eyes.

He felt the sweat on his skin turn icy. He quickly clicked off the app and looked for his son.
