Eliza smoothed down her dress, the silk a cool caress against her skin. The music, a jazzy instrumental, seemed to pulse through her, making her tap her foot. She felt a lightness, an almost weightless sensation, as she surveyed the tables, decorated with photos of her mom through the years. Each memory felt vivid, brimming with color.

She walked towards the podium, her steps feeling long and easy. A wide grin spread across her face. “Mom,” she started, her voice strong and clear, “I have so many memories of you, so many moments when you have lit up my life. Like when you were always the first one to volunteer at school. Now, it's my turn to return the favor."

She took a breath and continued, her hands animated as she spoke. "And I know that this new chapter will be full of wonder, and, knowing you, you're going to use it for good, to bring life and color to this world." Her words flowed easily, each syllable carrying the force of her elation.
