Gemotions

The basement, normally dim and forgotten, felt alive with a newfound vitality. Michael, humming a catchy tune, was deep in the process of clearing out the clutter. He felt a light, almost electric feeling coursing through him. In a dusty box, he found a letter, addressed to his mother, bearing his own familiar handwriting. It was never sent.

The heartfelt words, filled with love and gratitude, brought a flush to his cheeks. He felt a warmth spreading through him. He reread the words, the memory of his younger self vivid in his mind.

He closed his eyes, and a broad smile spread across his face. He had a great need to move, to *do*, to create. He strode out of the basement, his steps light and purposeful. He felt a sudden urge to bake, to build something, to tell the people he loved how he felt.
